  • Last Time for the Sewer

    E. L. Taylor, Seeley Lake, Mont.|Nov 30, 2017

SEELEY LAKE - This is my third and last missive on the sewer project. At his point the entire cost to us has not been clearly set out. And something was just told to me that makes it even worse. Apparently the third phase of the project has no water piped in from our system. That means when the sewer goes in there will also be the substantial added cost of a water system that has not even been discussed. Why hasn’t this been brought up? The whole project has been full of half-truths and smoke and mirrors as to the cost. We voted against the s...

  • Sewer - More Troubling Issues Arise

    E. L. Taylor, Seeley Lake, Mont.|Sep 21, 2017

SEELEY LAKE - This is the third time of my writing on the Seeley Lake sewer issue. Each time visiting the subject, more troubling issues arise. First off, who are these people who are able to go against the wishes of citizens who have voted down financing the sewer? They are able to hire lawyers to find some loophole to get around the voting of residents. The capper is WE are charged to pay the lawyers. How is this possible? Is this some sort of totalitarian hidden government whose ugly head arises only when their lawyers are paid? I have also...

SEELEY LAKE - The letters last week on what to do about the proposed sewer project have stirred renewed interest from the community. This is wonderful. The more input from residents the better. Senator Tester just gave the Seeley Lake Sewer District $600,000 which is barely significant considering the overall cost. This will basically finance the political push for the Seeley Lake system and further negate the wishes of most residents. That money could be better spent cleaning up the lakes. One writer stated that the proposed sewer system...

  • Proposed Sewer – Outrageous Outlay with Little Gain

    E. L. Taylor, Seeley Lake, Mont.|Jul 6, 2017

SEELEY LAKE - This business of the sewer system in Seeley Lake has gotten out of hand. Voters declined to finance it with a bond issue which pretty much indicated our wishes about the system as it stands. The people who are behind this are somehow attempting a financial end run which would accomplish the same thing for their purposes. It would no doubt still saddle property owners with the same financial burden. I own the carwash in Seeley and subsidize it for a significant part of the year. There is the question of how the gray water the...
