    Sean Mercado of the Seeley-Swan Blackhawks basketball team has signed an agreement to attend and play for the University of Providence in Great Falls next year. Mercado has been interested in many sports and athletics since he was a child and has played varsity football and basketball for Seeley Lake.     On Saturday, March 11, The Seeley Lake Senior Center had their first St. Patrick's Day Dinner since COVID-19. The buffet-style event from noon to 5 p.m., was attended by 98 people.     On May 13, the Potomac Parent Teacher Club is hosting their 19th annual Bingo fundraiser event at the Hilton Garden Inn in Missoula.     Paige Paffhausen, from Seeley Lake, recently underwent a serious health scare and spent a month in the intensive care unit. Paffhausen gave birth to her daughter on Dec 15, 2022. She and her husband Mick thought the toughest part was over but later that month Paige developed a terrible infection which led to a month-long ICU stay.     An investigation into a suspected attempted robbery at the Citizens Alliance Bank in Seeley Lake last month is still open. Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jeannette Smith stated that deputies responded to a criminal mischief call on the morning of Saturday Feb. 4 and arrived to find spray paint covering the external-facing ATM and its accompanying security camera.     The Seeley Elementary School Board is preparing the installation of the new playground which will replace the school’s much-beloved Eagle’s Nest structure with a new plastic one that will be more weather resistant and some say, safer.     Feb. 13 brought another first place win for local dog sled racer, Jessie Royer. The 46-year-old musher and dog trainer crossed the finish line with her seventh win in the Race to the Sky event, a 300-mile trail-race from Lincoln to Seeley Lake, and back. Royer has been running sled dogs for 31 years, since she was 15.
