A house divided

"Any Kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall." Luke 11:17

Starting with the civil war and everything going on in America these days has this country ever been so divided? Even the churches seem to steer clear of each other. They seem not to realize God may have something to teach them there. Romans 1:11,12.When was the last time one denomination prayed for another that they might have a great revival? Ephe. 4:43As America slides into a continued political and immoral abyss only a great revival will save America and the Church! A great outpouring of the Spirit, a type of end times Pentecost if you will. G.K. Chesteston once said, "only as the hearts of political leaders, religious leaders and citizens are turned to Him can a nation becomes "a flame with faith and free".

Notice he included everyone.

Honest Abe Lincoln had what was called Proclamation 85--a national day of humiliation, prayer and fasting. ...And in sorrowful remembrance of our own faults and crimes as a nation and as individuals to humble ourselves before Him and to pray for mercy...to all the people, and especially to all ministers and teachers of religion of all denominations and to all heads of family...Ah then confess and repent, tough words! Humble ourselves before Almighty God. America has become so broken morally, spiritually. Will the body of Christ lead? The church should be the last place there ought to be great division. Psalm 133:1As the Good Book sez "submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. "In the future this ol' world is go'n to get bad--really bad. It will be very hard to keep our fellowship with Christ and fellow believers. We would do well to remember what the wise, uneducated Ben Franklin said "We must hang together, or most assuredly we will all hang separately. "In 1858 Abe Lincoln opened one of his most famous speeches with these words, "A house divided against itself cannot stand."
