Blackhawk's streak ends in Drummond

DRUMMOND – The Blackhawks failed to extend their three game winning streak to four as they fell to the defending state champions, the Flint Creek Titans on Sept. 20.

The Blackhawks struck first with Avery Smith scoring a 3-yard touchdown.

Early in the second quarter the Titans tied it at 6-6 but the Blackhawks answered right back with a 31-yard pass from Owen Mercado to Smith for a touchdown and a second pass from Mercado to Walker McDonald for the extra points.

By half time the Blackhawks had given up two more touchdowns to the Titans and trailed 14-20.

The second half was brutal for the Blackhawks as the Titans ran in four touchdowns in the third quarter and another pair in the fourth quarter. The Blackhawks managed to score once more in the fourth quarter on a 36-yard pass from Mercado to McDonald.

The final score was 20-62.

The Blackhawks host Mission for Homecoming Sept. 28 with kickoff at 1 p.m. A Homecoming barbecue will be catered by Destinations for Education. All funds raised will support their service project to Costa Rica in March, 2020. Homecoming royalty will be crowned at half time.

Mission comes into the game with the same season record as the Blackhawks, 3-1. Their only loss of the season has been to the Clark Fork Coop.
