Blackhawks Getting Faster By the Week

Logan Maughan leads Hunter Shelmerdine onto the final stretch of the 400-meter as they chase down Troy's Hunter Leighty. Shelmerdine passed both Maughan and Leightly for first place, finishing in 52.26 seconds while Maughan finished in second with a time of 52.70. Both set new personal records and were the two fastest times across the state in Class C schools this season.

MISSOULA - With just a few weeks before they head to the district track meet, the Seeley-Swan Blackhawks keep pushing themselves to new levels. More than a dozen Boys and Girls set new personal records (PR) last week.

The team started out the week taking on athletes from Big Sky High School, Deer Lodge, Arlee and Drummond April 17.

The Boys relay teams shined as usual, taking first in the 4x100 and 4x400-meter. The Boys B team came in third in the 4x400.

The Boys top finishers were Logan Maughan and Dakota Wood. Maughan took first in the 400 and second in the 1600-meter while Wood set a PR...
