Blackhawks on the Road

The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks and Lady Blackhawks took to the road after the holiday break to face Charlo Jan. 5 and Lincoln Jan. 6.

The Boys had a strong showing against Charlo. The game was within a few points through the first three quarters.

The Blackhawks were down just three points heading into the final frame but could not catch Charlo. The final score was 49-65.

Cameron Haines led the Boys with 15 points. He hit 3, three-pointers and was 100 percent from the free-throw line. Avery Smith followed close behind with 12 points and was also perfect from the free-throw line.

Also scoring: Keaton Johnson 8, Dakota Wood 6, Chance Johnson 6 and Hunter Shelmerdine 4.

The Lady Blackhawks jumped to an early lead over Charlo but couldn't hold on. The game was tied at the end of the third quarter and Ladies fell 28-36 at the final buzzer.

Autumn Morse sank a pair of three-pointers on her way to 8 points in the game.

Also scoring: Terra Bertsch 7, Lily Mercer 6, Chloe Robbins 4, Jory Towe 2 and Klaire Kovatch 1.

The Lady Blackhawks had better luck in Lincoln. They outscored Lincoln two to one in the first half and whipped them in the third quarter. The final score was 71-39.

Bertsch led the Lady Blackhawks sinking 8 baskets including 1, three-pointer and was 100 percent from the free throw line for a total of 19 points in the game. Robbins also broke into the double digits with 13 as well as Kovatch with 11. The girls still struggled from the free-throw line hitting only 5 of 17 attempted.

Also scoring: Morse 7, Ashley Miller 6, Towe 6, Rose Mercer 4, Taylor Dillree 3 and Lily Mercer 2.

The Boys were having a good game against Lincoln as well until it was interrupted by a power outage. The game is scheduled to be finished when Lincoln visits the Blackhawks Feb. 3.

This week the Blackhawks and Lady Blackhawks will be hosting Darby Jan. 12 with games starting at 2:30 p.m. They then travel to Victor Jan. 13 with games starting at 1 p.m.
