Blackhawks Seeded #2 Going into Districts

an Blackhawks wrapped up their regular season with a pair of district wins against Victor and Darby. Their conference record is now 8-2 with an overall record of 12-6.

The victories cemented their second place seed heading into the District 13-C tournaments this week.

Versus Victor

The Blackhawks raided the Pirates' home court in Victor Feb. 10.

The Pirates put up little fight as the Blackhawks dominated the game early. The Blackhawks took a 26-5 lead in the first quarter to an 84-36 victory at the final buzzer.

Bradley Miller led the assault scoring 25 points off 12 baskets and a free throw. Cameron Haines nailed 4 three-pointers on his way to 19 game points.

The Blackhawks punished the Pirates on the foul line sinking 11 of 18 free throws. Chance Johnson was 3 for 3 from the line.

Also scoring: Avery Smith 13; Keaton Johnson 8; Nino Robinett 8; Chance 5; James Webb 2 and Logan Robinson 2.

Versus Darby

The Blackhawks hosted the Darby Tigers Feb. 11.

The Tigers struck first and took an early 5-point advantage. The Blackhawks were able to erase it by the end of the first quarter and took the lead.

Midway into the second quarter, the Blackhawks started building a small lead. They headed into the second half ahead by 7.

The Blackhawks and Tigers matched each other throughout the rest of the game. Though the Tigers made a few runs at the lead, the Blackhawks held on to the end, 56-49.

Three Blackhawks broke into the double digits in scoring. Bradley Miller led with 18 point followed by Cameron Haines with 12 and Keaton Johnson with 10.

As the clock wound down, the Tigers started fouling, attempting to get back the ball, giving the Blackhawks a lot of opportunity for free throws. Keaton made the Tigers pay hitting 5 of his 6 free throws in the final frame. Overall the Blackhawks were only able to hit 13 of 28 from the line.

Also scoring: Avery Smith 7, Chance Johnson 5 and Nino Robinett 4.

The Blackhawks and Lady Blackhawks head to the District 13-C Tournament in Frenchtown.
