Blackhawks Open Season with Victory

SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks defeated the Clark Fork Mountain Cats in their first game of the season Dec. 3 at home.

The Blackhawks took an early lead, outscoring the Mountain Cats two to one in the first quarter. They buried the Cats allowing only 10 points total in the remaining quarters. The final score was 69-22.

Cameron Haines led the Blackhawks with 15 points. Just two points behind Haines, Gunner Sloan and Chance Johnson each had 13 points. Haines and Avery Smith had the team's 2, 3-point baskets.

The Blackhawks hit just over 50 percent from the free-throw line sinking 5 of 9. Sloan hit 3 for 3 from the line.

Also scoring: Bradley Miller 7; Logan Robinson 6; Keaton Johnson 6; Smith 5; Nino Robinett 2 and Hunter Shelmerdine 2.

This week

The Blackhawks JV plays Darby at 4 p.m. in Ronan Dec. 9. Blackhawks varsity takes on Granite at 7:30 p.m.

The varsity Boys then plays Hot Springs Dec. 10 at SKC with a start time of 4 p.m.
