SEELEY LAKE – Speed limits have changed on Highway 83 and the school zone is official by the Seeley-Swan High School. Law enforcement has been stopping people for speeding. Information Sought on Thefts around Potomac POTOMAC – The Missoula County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information on thefts in Potomac over the past month. On Wednesday, Sept. 14 a Honda generator, battery charger and five-gallon fuel jugs were stolen outside of an outbuilding in the 700 block of Swanson Lane. The Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has confirmed the first influenza cases of the season. To date, five cases have been confirmed involving various age ranges from children to the elderly. Cases include three from Missoula County and two from Lewis and Clark County. SWAN VALLEY - The Swan Valley Regional Planning Committee (SVRPC) met Oct. 12 and revisited residents’ responses regarding what was envisioned for the Swan Valley. SEELEY LAKE – Pyramid Mountain Lumber, Inc. recently received a notable practice on their conformance audit through the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI). This maintains their fiber sourcing certification. Pyramid is one of two SFI certified mills in the state. Pyramid applied for its fiber sourcing certification through SFI five years ago. Laetiporus conifericola, or "Chicken of the Woods," grows around Potomac. They are a mushroom species known as the "sulfur shelf mushrooms" that grow on conifer trees. SEELEY LAKE – The Seeley Lake-Swan Valley Hospital District received a positive audit report for the fiscal year ending in June 30, 2015 at the October board meeting. The board also learned that the Seeley-Swan Medical Center will have an X-ray machine in mid-November. The audit was required by Missoula County after the district borrowed $500,000 for the expansion.
