Pyramid Helps Celebrate Montana Forest Products Week

Pyramid received a load of spruce off the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation Cilly Cliffs project in the Swan Valley. Parke Logging out of Drummond, Mont. is taking seven million board feet of timber off the Cilly Cliffs project. All but one and a half million board feet of cedar will come to Pyramid. The sale was estimated at 14,351 tons and Pyramid bid $16.98 per ton. This made more than $702,000 for the state school trust lands in addition to the more than $200,000 they paid for forest improvement. The logs are stamped "MT DNRC Timber Sales Support Education in Montana."

SEELEY LAKE – As a part of Montana Forest Products Week celebrations Oct. 16-22, the Flathead Valley Habitat for Humanity chapter will be hosting a Build Day in Kalispell Saturday, Oct. 22. All seven of the large sawmills donated bunks of lumber and plywood for this Habitat for Humanity home. Pyramid Mountain Lumber, Inc. provided siding material for the house.

Being opening day of hunting season, they are short of volunteers to help with the build. No building experience is needed and there will be lots of "on the job training."
