    SEELEY LAKE - After canceling last year due to COVID restrictions, the Seeley Lake parade returned to Highway 83. With temperatures in the mid-90s, those that gathered appreciated the goodies and the sprinkles of water from some of the floats while others in the crowd were ready and fired back with squirt guns.   • Parade kicks off Fourth in Condon

    SWAN VALLEY - Highway 83 was lined with parade-goers for this year's annual parade in Condon. The parade was sponsored by the American Legion Post #63 and ran from Liquid Louie's north to the Swan Valley Community Hall. There the festivities continued with huckleberry ice cream, a barbecue and the O-Mok-See. The Swan Valley Community Foundation also put on a fireworks show in the arena at dusk....

    OVANDO – After searching by helicopter and on the ground, the grizzly bear that killed a woman Tuesday morning has not been found. Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks bear specialists and wardens are continuing to monitor culvert traps set in the area. The woman was identified as 65-year-old Leah Davis Lokan of Chico, California. The search even included the use of infrared technology from Two Bear Air Rescue out of Kalispell, but efforts to find the bear are now focusing on traps near Ovando.   • Temporary Holland Gordon Trail Closure

    KALISPELL - National Forest System Trail #35, also known as the Holland Gordon Trail, and National Forest System Road #44A are closed to all traffic and public use. The closure is in place to protect public safety due to a horse carcass along the trail. Trail #35 is closed from the junction with Road #9558 in section 35, T20N, R16W, to the junction with Trail #415 in sections 31, 315, and 36, T20N, R16W.
