Ingress into the Seeley Lake Post Office off Highway 83

Saturday morning I went to the Seeley Lake Post Office. As I turned off Highway 83 into the parking lot of the post office I was pleasantly amazed that the minefield of deep holes into the parking lot off of the highway had been neatly filled in and graded. When I mentioned how safe, nice and welcoming the turn-in was to the postal employee on duty, the reply I received was that they did not know who had done it. In fact the employee further mentioned that "it was not that way when I left last night but was repaired by this morning".

I would like to thank the kind community soul who took this project under their wings and made this turn-in safe for all of us. If the entity/individual who did this work was doing it under a contract with a governmental agency then so be it and thank you, but I ask why did it take so long. If however the work was done independently by some noble individual who just got tired of the holes and took it upon themselves to correct the situation, then I would like to offer “kudos” to that individual while passing on a "shame on you" to the governmental agencies who have disregarded public safety created by this road hazard. There may be lingering interagency squabbles as to who is responsible for a driveway ingress into a federal property off a state/county road, but come on now get real — since we pay our taxes to both entities for this sort of road maintenance — and act a little more timely the next time around.
