Wrestlers do well at District

Seeley Swan wrestlers made a strong showing at the A.A.U. District Tournament in Ronan last weekend qualifying the bulk of the team to advance on to the divisional tournament.

In the district tournament wrestlers had to finish in the top six of their respective weight classes in order to advance to next week’s divisional in Missoula.

Ryan’s Eagle Scout Court of Honor

On Saturday, Feb. 7, 95 people attended an Eagle Scout Court of Honor to witness a local 14-year-old, Ryan Richards, receive his Boy Scout Eagle Award, the highest rank a Boy Scout can earn.

Of the over 5 million youth that participate nationwide in Boy Scouts of America Programs, only about 3% earn the Eagle Scout rank. To be worthy of this award, a scout must earn 21 merit badges, 11 required and 10 elective. Plus he must learn to be proficient in the outdoors, in leadership and complete a service project that benefits his community, school or church.
