New teachers welcomed

Seeley Lake, Condon and Ovando schools welcome several new educators for the 2023-2024 school year.

Seeley Lake Elementary had two new teachers join its staff: third-grade teacher Ali Williams and first-grade teacher Janet Kiely. Swan Valley Elementary welcomed Angela Mock as its new principal.

Seeley Swan High School has recruited two new teachers as well: Warren Bunde and Lori Skyrud. Former SLE science and math teacher Patti Bartlett joined the Ovando School staff.

Angela Mock is a 17-year veteran special education teacher from right here in Montana. This is her first year in administration. She said she looks forward to bringing in new and diverse learning experiences at her school.

Ali Williams came to Montana from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. After teaching in Helena for two years, Seeley Lake Elementary hired her as its new third-grade teacher. She is excited to be in Seeley Lake and to see what her students will accomplish this school year.

Janet Kiely was born and raised in Montana and began working in the education field after graduating from Montana State University. This is her first year teaching in Seeley Lake after she said she always wanted to live in the town. SLE welcomed her as its new first grade teacher.

Warren Bunde is in his first year of teaching and starting off his career at Seeley Swan High School as the Industrial Arts and Art teacher. He has also started an Outdoor club for students interested in getting outside.

Lori Skyrud, from Missoula, has been working in education for eight years. She graduated from the University of Montana, where she completed her degree in Biology. She said she is excited to be a part of Seeley Swan High School and looks forward to building good relationships with her students, their parents and the SSHS staff.
