Clearwater Resource Council seeks more volunteers

The Clearwater Resource Council (CRC) is expanding its watershed and forest health programs to better address the driving natural resource issues that are harming the ecological health and beauty of the Clearwater Valley. Our goal is to work on behalf of our community to assess and educate people and develop projects that benefit natural resources and the rural lifestyle of the Clearwater Watershed for present and future generations of people to enjoy.

With this in mind, we must create innovative approaches to engage and educate people and build community partnerships with landowners, businesses and people who live and recreate in the valley. Our goal is to reduce the negative impacts of issues such as catastrophic wildfire, losing wildlife habitat, invasive aquatic plants, algae blooms, shoreline erosion, and septic tank leakage into our lakes and streams.

To improve our effectiveness in creating sustainable benefits for the community, the CRC is launching new and innovative watershed and forest strategic action plans to focus on ecosystem resiliency in harmony with economic sustainability, and cultural vitality.

In addition, the council is expanding opportunities for people, clubs, and organizations to get involved in protecting and conserving our natural resources and community values. We seek to reconnect with people who have helped CRC in the past and create new and creative ways for new volunteers to use their interests, talents and skills to preserve the magnificent beauty and pristine condition of the Clearwater Valley.

We have multiple needs for volunteer leadership and service. For example, we need help in capturing photo images and video, conducting plant, stream, and animal surveys, office assistance, lake monitoring, writing grants and seeking donations, community engagement, youth outdoor activities, and organizing collaborative groups. We want to include not only individuals but families and groups to pull together the strengths of many youth and adults to collectively reduce the negative impacts of threats to our beloved valley.
