Heart of gold

This year is the fourth time I’m reading through the Bible in a year. In the past I read all the books but not all in one year.

Seems like there are always verses I seem to not have noticed before, or forgot after.

Like this year, in Genesis 6:6

“The Lord was grieved that He had made man on the earth and His heart was filled with pain.”

As I read that over and over I began to realize “God’s heart was filled with pain.”

I wonder if we can really grasp that - ‘God’s heart was filled with pain!’

Can anyone even come close to know how God felt?

Here was the Creator of our planet, the universe, the Creator of us, of everything and he was “grieved” because He had made man on the earth.

Verse 5 in part, “ The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on earth had become…”

Move’n on to today and realizing what we’ve become…wars and conflicts all over the globe, man’s inhumanity to man, a return to Sodom and Gomorrah, violent riots and bloodshed in cities everywhere.

Seems like no end to political corruption. Abortions of the dear little ones with no conscience by so many.

And we’re thinking we’re so intelligent it’s another tower of Babel, we’re go’n to live on Mars.

Isaiah 66:1

“Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool.”

Yes-sir-ree look at all the electric marvels we’ve created - I’ll keep my dumb phone if you please.

So, I couldn’t get it out of my mind, “God’s heart was filled with pain.”

In John chapter 11, I couldn’t help think of Jesus at the tomb of Lazarus. God’s word says,

“He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. Jesus wept,” and was overwhelmed with emotions.

So our only hope is in God, there mankind must turn back to Him, led by God’s people.

We cannot fix this broken world without Him! It is only going to get worse.

In Genesis 3:8-11 God wanted a fellowship with man that He created, but man went his own way.
