Glass recycling brings in big donation for local school

3,125 pounds of glass was recycled on Saturday, April 15 at the Seeley Lake Community Foundation’s recycling and fundraising event.

$1,179 was collected in cash donations and was matched by local nonprofit, Charlie’s Helping Hands, who generously doubled all donations up to $1,000 that day.

A total of $2,179 was donated to Seeley Swan High School.

Over the years, the annual event, which is co-hosted by the Seeley Lake Community Foundation, and Recycle Works, has kept over 12,000 pounds of glass out of the landfill and raised over $5,500 for local schools.

Another recycling event will be hosted on Saturday, July 15 in Seeley Lake.
