Annual glass recycling program returns and raises money for local schools

The Seeley Lake Community Foundation, in partnership with Missoula-based nonprofit Recycling Works, is offering free glass recycling in Seeley Lake via three Saturday drop-off events this year.

The glass recycling drop-off events will be from 10am until 2pm on April 15, July 15, and October 15, 2023. Community members are invited to bring their glass to the parking lot of the Foundation Building, where Recycling Works staff will load clean glass into their recycling trailer.

The Foundation Building is located at 3150 MT Hwy 83 N, in downtown Seeley Lake. You can sign up to receive a text message the week before the event at: https://recyclingworksmt.com/seeley-lake-glass-drop-off-events/

Recycling Works can accept all colors of clean, Food Grade glass, and glass with labels. Please remove food, lids, and residue. Other types of glass (windows, light bulbs, Pyrex, etc) are not accepted.

There is a suggested $1 donation per gallon of glass, which benefits local schools. In the past two years, this program has resulted in $3,371 donated to Seeley Lake Elementary and Seeley-Swan High School, as well as 9,300 pounds of glass recycled.

The Seeley Lake Community Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit that engages philanthropy, provides leadership, and enhances the quality of life and economic vitality of the Seeley Lake, MT area.
