MISSOULA -- An operation that began Wednesday in Missoula and concluded Thursday by The Montana FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force led to six arrests of those suspected of the exploitation and enticement of children.

The task force is comprised of law enforcement personnel from various agencies in Montana and Federal Officers. Missoula County Sheriff’s Office was the central point for the operation but also worked very closely with City of Missoula Police Department.

This is the first time in recent years the task force focused its efforts in Missoula.

“Protecting children is a primary focus...and this effort has resulted in making our communities safer for our children,” said Sheriff TJ McDermott.

The FBI Montana Regional Violent Crime Task Force also assisted in the operation along with members from the FBI Salt Lake City Field Office.
