Swan Song

SEELEY LAKE - Kelly was born in West Lafayette, Indiana as Kelly Ann Hartman. She loved the dogs, cats, fish, birds and horses she had while she was growing up. In school, Kelly was on the swim team, band, choir, Brownies and Girl Scouts. Through these groups she got to travel to Florida for a cruise, Mexico and Europe at the same time as the Royal Wedding of Charles and Diana. She and her parents would camp with friends from the Battleground Saddle Club and every summer they'd stay at a family ranch in Colorado which she really enjoyed.

As a young adult, Kelly joined a women's acapella choir and had a lot of fun with the ladies. She stayed in Lafayette and married Kurt Fitzgerald and proceeded to adopt his last name. They had their daughter Amber Nicole in May of 1997.

In 1999 they divorced. Kelly and her daughter moved to Seeley Lake. They moved in with her parents which is where she would continue to reside.

In Seeley Lake she enjoyed many groups and activities. She volunteered at Loving Hearts, attended Mission Bible Fellowship, the Monday morning Bible study at Faith Chapel and the Tuesday night Bible study at Tim and Dee's, TOPS, craft groups and lunch/Bingo at the Senior Center.

She was the most loving and nonjudgmental person you would ever meet. In recent years she became more immobile but kept her spirits up as best as she could. She loved reading mysteries, the pets and in the last year enjoying the company of Amber & her granddaughter 21 mo. old Ridley Lou-Ann. Her family is comforted that she is now pain free and at peace with her Lord.

She is survived by: her mother Patricia "Pat" Ann DeLeo and stepfather Frank DeLeo, Seeley Lake; daughter Amber and granddaughter Ridley, Seeley Lake; stepbrother Dr. Frank DeLeo III (Virginia), Corvallis, Montana; stepsister Sandy Furdyk (Todd), Blaine, Washington; stepbrother Barry DeLeo, Seeley Lake; uncles Mike McCabe (Linda), Athens, Tennessee and Danny McCabe (Robin) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and aunt Judy Hartman, Lafayette, Indiana.

She was proceeded in death by her father Frederick Hartman and her uncle James Hartman.

There will be a Celebration of Life Saturday, Oct. 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Mission Bible Fellowship Church.
