Handmade crafts for dogs and people

Seeley Lake Market Spotlight

SEELEY LAKE- Victoria Crisamore offers Seeley Lake Market patrons and their dogs a variety of handmade crafts every Sunday at her stand "Letti By Design."

Crisamore has been selling at the Seeley Lake Market for around six years. Her products include dreamcatchers, beaded and paracord bracelets, dog collars and leashes, and white chocolate-covered dog bones. She said some of her most popular products are dog-related.

"I absolutely love dogs," Crisamore said. "Funny enough, when I started doing this, I didn't realize that selling dog stuff I'd get to see a lot of dogs."

Although dogs are not allowed at the Seeley Lake Market, Crisamore offers to put up pictures of patron's dogs on a bulletin board whenever they buy a dog-related product.

Crisamore first got into making handmade crafts after almost losing her black lab at a dog park. She said she thought of all the different ways to keep track of her dog and decided she'd make a unique and colorful dog collar out of paracord.

"People started asking me where I got it," Crisamore said. "Then it kind of just went from there. I actually tried Letti by Design on purpose, because I knew I wasn't just gonna do dog collars."

Along with braiding paracord into survival bracelets and dog leashes, Crisamore also makes dreamcatchers. She said she prefers to use chains and "danglies" rather than feathers, because they can be difficult to work with. She said one of her most popular items is the three-dimensional tree dreamcatchers she makes.

Crisamore also sells her products at the market in Missoula on Saturdays.

"I just love being at the market," Crisamore said. "I have a one-year-old now and for work I clean, so I don't get a whole lot of adult interaction. That lately has definitely become my most favorite part of talking to people."
