New pastor for Faith Chapel

The Reverend Gary Wayne has been called to serve as pastor for Faith Chapel, Pentecostal Church of God, in Seeley Lake. Pastor Wayne and his wife Heatherann, assumed the pastorate duties on June 8.

Pastor Wayne currently lives at Thompson Falls and will commute to Seeley Lake on weekends through the month of June. He has served four years as the District Youth President for the Pentecostal Church of God in Montana. Reverend Wayne moved to Thompson Falls from Idaho in early childhood. After graduation from Thompson Falls High School, he was employed by the Flodin Lumber Company. Following college, Reverend Wayne returned to the mill as a saw filer and planer set-up man.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne both received theological training at Northwest Bible College in Kirkland, Washington. They are skilled in musical instruments and singing. Heatherann ministers in signing for the deaf. She would appreciate contact with hearing-impaired people in the community.

Condon's on the map

Local residents may spend quite a bit of time debating the true location of Condon, Montana , but as of May 24, 1987, millions of people who read The New York Times Sunday travel section had little doubt about where Condon is located.

That issue of the paper contained a full-page article about four Montana guest ranches and lodges. The article was particularly flattering to two Swan Valley guest ranches: the Montana Double Diamond guest Ranch and Holland Lake Lodge. Condon is clearly marked on the New York Times map, which shows Swan Valley and Western Montana.

Considering that the Times has a paid circulation of 1,645,060 (as of May 30, 1987) and a total readership of nearly three and a half million people, it's no wonder that Howard and Loris Uhl at Holland Lake Lodge have been swamped with inquiries.

"The day the paper came out we received lots of phone calls," Howard said recently. During the first week, most of the inquiries were by phone. Since then, mail requests for information have increased steadily....

Quite a few people involved

Dear Gary:

Thank you so much for your kind comments in "chips" and the wonderful coverage you have been giving 2 Valleys Stage and Alpine Artisans Inc., in the Pathfinder.

However, when you state, "Rolly Meinholtz, who along with his wife, Peggy, are heading up the efforts to underwrite the 2 Valley Stage Performing Arts series..." as a statement, we are veering just far enough from the truth of the matter that I must offer a correction.

As has been stated elsewhere, the spark of the wonderful idea that has become 2 Valleys Stage, was that of the teaching staff at Swan Valley School then put into practice by music teacher, Bob Green. Since I have been directing and producing public events all my life, I saw the potential of what they were already doing and offered my perception and expertise to Alpine Artisans, Inc.,
