Volunteer Management Tips & Tricks Training March 31

SEELEY LAKE - Volunteers play a significant role in community building and bring multiple benefits to organizations, communities and people.

The Seeley Lake Community Foundation is bringing nationally recognized trainer Shannon Stober to Seeley Lake to present an evening session called 'Tips & Tricks for Volunteer Management' from 5:30 – 7 p.m. Thursday, March 31. This short, useful and free session will help participants learn ways to find more volunteers, as well as keep people involved with their organization.

Our town runs on volunteers. They make SO MUCH happen in this valley. From regularly scheduled volunteer-based services that strengthen our community, to many activities and events that periodically require larger numbers of helpers, volunteers are vital. Keeping volunteers engaged and active is especially important in a small, rural community. Plus, there are new folks in town interested in getting involved around the community! This training will be helpful for people who find themselves in a coordinating role for events, activities and organizations, or who just want to learn about this important topic.

Stober, founder of Jump Start Training and Development, is a nationally recognized trainer, facilitator and coach. Jump Start is well-versed in the demands, challenges and opportunities of a nonprofit setting due to Stober's 20 years of experience within the sector.

Stober has held several staffing roles with non-profit organizations, including both senior and executive level positions, and has served on several non-profit boards and advisory councils. Her formal training in strategic planning and logic modeling support her in bringing a systems-based approach to this work and her extensive work with AmeriCorps and National Service provide her with unique insight into the roles of community building and volunteerism. Her high-energy, high impact style is known for creating passionate leaders, impressive teams and elevated performance in the non-profit sector.

The training will be held in the West Wing of the Foundation Building. Food will be provided. RSVP by March 21 for your organization to be entered to win one of three spots for a session to talk about your organization with Stober the morning following the training on April 1.
