“A Play” rescheduled for March 3

SEELEY LAKE – The Seeley-Swan High School Drama Class’s production of “A Play” written and directed by SSHS Senior Oskar Murphy scheduled for this Thursday has been postponed until Thursday, March 3 at 6:45 p.m. in the SSHS auditorium. The community is encouraged to come to the show.

Free at-home COVID test kits available at Fire Hall

SEELEY LAKE - The Missoula County Office of Emergency Management is distributing over 25,000 at-home COVID test kits to residents. They are being distributed at the Seeley Lake Fire Department, 200 Firehouse Lane.

There is a limited supply of test kits per household and will be available while supplies last. Stop it anytime between 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1-5 p.m. Questions call the Department 406-677-2400.

Three positions up for election on Seeley Lake Community Council

SEELEY LAKE – There is a third, three-year seat up for election this May on the Seeley Lake Community Council. According to Montana Code Annotated 7-3-417, all seats on the Community Councils must be elected positions. According to the Missoula County Commissioner’s Office, the Council’s current bylaws violate state law with the Board of County Commissioner-appointed seventh member seat. 

Tom Browder currently holds the seat that was appointed by the County Commissioners and is now up for election. The filing deadline for the May 3 Special District Election is 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7.

Weekly COVID-19 update

As of Jan. 31, there have been 212,078 cases of COVID-19 in Montana. There have been 1,378,098 doses of vaccines administered and 548,467 Montanans fully immunized. There are 18,607 active cases, 11,002 total hospitalizations with 310 active, 220,573 recoveries and 3,000 deaths in Montana due to COVID-19 complications. Missoula County has had 24,243 cases, 3,303 active cases, 20,742 recovered and 198 COVID-related deaths to date.
