Through Dec. 13 Angel Tree at Potomac School. Choose a tag from the tree, purchase and wrap the gift and return to the school office with the tag attached by Monday, Dec. 13.

Through Dec. 15 Giving Tree sponsored by Mountain Lakes Presbyterian Church at Cory's Valley Market. Check out cards on the tree at the check stand. Boxed, unwrapped gifts must be returned to Cory's by 5pm, Wednesday, Dec. 15.

Through Dec. 20 Angel Tree at the Seeley Lake Fire Department. Parents or legal guardians are encouraged to stop in Monday-Friday 8am-5pm to sign up a child (provide name, age, gender, clothing sizes, likes and physical address for delivery) until Dec. 9. Cards can be picked up and the wrapped packages returned by 5pm, Dec. 20. The Department will deliver the gifts Dec. 22. More info: 406-677-2400.

• Ovando's Old West Christmas, 10am-3pm. Downtown Ovando, mile marker 45, Highway 200. Cowboy Claus rides into town at 12pm and will be available for photos until 2pm at the Brand Bar Museum. • Seeley Lake Historical Society's Movie Night and refreshments, 4pm. Seeley Lake Historical Museum and Visitors Center, 2920 Highway 83. Screening of "Bud's Place." This film celebrates Bud Moore's life in and for the woods -- as Forest Ranger, fur trapper, soldier, wilderness advocate and author -- walking his talk about the virtues of living in harmony with the natural world. Join us for the movie and refreshments! The Museum and Maloney Cabin will be open from 12-5pm.

Dec. 4

• Potomac Crafts Fair, 9am-3pm. Potomac Greenough Community Center. Handcrafted, homemade, home-baked, one-of-a-kind treasures made by local talent. Call Jamie 406-244-2423 for booth information.

Swan Valley Craft Sale, 10am-3pm. Swan Valley Community Hall.

• Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, 6-8pm. Potomac Greenough Community Center. Visit with friends and have a cookie, coffee and hot chocolate. Check out the improvements to the Center including: new siding and roofing, new wall padding, acoustical insulating spray on the ceiling and new heating system for the main room and kitchen.

Dec. 5 History Program and Presentations, 2-3pm. Seeley Lake Historical Museum and Visitors Center, 2920 Highway 83. Museum displays, 1920s cabin open house, lifetime honors presentations, refreshments and more TBA. Museum open 12- 4pm.

• Citizens Alliance Bank (Member FDIC & Equal Housing Lender) Annual Customer Appreciation Meal and Open House. Meal 11am-2pm and Open House 9:30am-3pm. Citizens Alliance Bank lobby, Highway 83. • Uncorked and Creative Ornament Painting Class, 6-8:30pm. Kris's Studio, 328 Skyport Way, Seeley Lake. Join artist Kris Gullikson for painting "Christmas Tree Ornaments" pouring acrylics on glass balls! Plus you get to do a canvas as well from the leftover pour paint! Make and take event. • Rich Ranch Community Appreciation Day, 1-4pm. The Rich Ranch, 939 Cottonwood Lakes Road. Lions Club Chili Contest Lunch, sleigh rides, sledding for the kids and a visit from Santa at 3pm with goodie sacks. Free for the whole community.

• Alpine Artisan's 2 Valleys Stage presents "The Gothard Sisters," 3pm. Seeley-Swan High School auditorium.

• Ovando School presents "The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus," 7pm. Ovando School. Santa will visit after the play.

Dec. 18

• Breakfast with Santa 9 – 11:30am, at Santa's Village on Falls Creek Guest Ranch, 2088 Kauffman Road, Condon. RVSP required by Dec. 17. To RSVP call the Lodge at 406-754-3255. Santa's Village will be open following the breakfast until 6:30pm. Free gifts for all children.

• Seeley Lake Stockings, 4-7pm. Seeley Lake Community Hall. Come see Santa Claus and get a stocking filled with goodies! Arts and craft table for the kids, pictures with Santa, free toys and gifts.

• Christmas Caravan of Lights, 5pm lineup, caravan pulls out at 6pm. Seeley Lake Chicken Coop. Decorate your motored vehicles and follow the group. Caravan will follow a route through town: Leave from Coop north on Highway 83 and will travel on Cedar lane, Elm Drive, School Lane to Juniper, Larch, Spruce Locust, Tamarack, Redwood and back around on the same back roads to the Coop. Places along the route are encouraged to decorate and come out and enjoy! Merriment and bonfires for family and friends at the Coop following the caravan.

Dec. 20 Seeley Lake Lions Club delivers holiday food baskets to community members. To nominate a family who could benefit from a Holiday basket contact Lion Cory Thompson 406-677-2121 or Lion Cheryl Lewis 406-677-4041. Provide address and phone number if available. Also note if they have children.

Dec. 21

• Potomac School Christmas Holiday Program, 6:30pm. Potomac Greenough Community Center.

Swan Valley Winter Program, 7pm. Swan Valley School Gym. Christmas musical performed by the entire school including a performance by the junior high band.

• Salmon Prairie School presents their Holiday production, 6pm, Salmon Prairie School

Dec. 22 Blackhawk BIZ Showcase, 4 – 8:30pm, Seeley-Swan High School cafeteria during the basketball game. Support the SSHS Entrepreneur Class's small businesses: 3 C's offering chili and cornbread; The Traveling Pizzelle selling Italian cookies; Peppy Parfaits offering fresh berry parfaits; Premium Hot Cocoa for a premium cocoa experience; Patchwork Paninis selling made to order Panini sandwiches; and opportunity to schedule CC Tutoring for one-on-one student academic assistance. Cash only market.

Dec. 24 Christmas Eve Services at area churches. A full listing will appear in the Dec. 23 issue.

Dec. 25 Christmas Eats and Treats. 3-5pm at The Filling Station. Turkey, ham, dinner rolls, cakes and other goodies. Kitchen will be closed. Everyone is invited! Bar & Casino open 1-11pm. If you don't have a place to go on Christmas or if you didn't get enough holiday eats with the family, come see us. We're open!
