Substitute shortage hits close to home

SEELEY LAKE – Three schools in the state took advantage of the three-day week Oct. 18-20 and closed their doors to in-person learning. Darby, Glasgow and Livingston School Districts reported they either did not have enough employees to operate the schools, did not have enough substitutes to cover the absent staff or they wanted to provide time for the county to contact trace active COVID-19 cases.
