Romans 8:7,8: “Because the mind/though life of the flesh is enmity towards Elohim, for it does not subject itself to the Torah/word of Elohim, neither indeed is it able,” v.8 “and those who are in the flesh are unable to please Elohim.”
The flesh/self-life thrives/operates on the law/Torah of diminishing return. That is, it needs more and more and more. It will eventually not be satisfied by truth/Word of Elohim and will develop a lust for traditions, inherited doctrines of men, legends, fantasies and fables that are unheard of in the Scripture/word of Elohim. Because the mind of the flesh doesn’t find rapturing rest, neither can it find rest in the word/instructions of Elohim. The flesh will invent more and more and more traditions and doctrines for itching ears.
The thought-life is missing the way of the cross in its effort to make a good show in the flesh. It becomes more and more likely to devour others and eventually becomes a tyrant that in time self-destructs.
Luke 9:24 - The thought life of the flesh who keeps his life will lose it but he who has lost his thought life for my sake shall find it. The intention is that we are teachable, agree and walk together in covenant with the Creator of heaven and earth. If the word of Elohim is insufficient, you are not able to be His disciple/taught-one – Luke 14:27.
“With all the effort that you have, seek a word-birth only through the living word of Elohim, which remains forever.”1 Peter 1:23
Let us deny self and want nothing but the shepherd/Word. Let us use to the word of Elohim to esteem Yeshua/Elohim and that can save us. The word of Elohim mixed with legends of candy canes, fantasies of Easter Sunday bunny’s eggs, fables of saint Santa with flying reindeer; forsake them and be commanded by the Kind of Righteousness. His Torah/instructions alone are eternal truth. His truth alone will set you free from fears, uncertainties and doubts.
I’m commanded by Him for one purpose: To esteem the Father.
