Receive personal technology assistance at Sept. 9 event

SEELEY LAKE - Need to convert your bank statements into a PDF? Don’t quite understand the difference between a window and a tab? Want to know how to get your email on several of your personal devices (like your phone, tablet or laptop)? Stop by the Seeley Lake Community Foundation West Wing Thursday, Sept. 9 between 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and visit with volunteers to answer your technology questions, concerns and issues.

The goal is not only to resolve immediate issues but prepare attendees for the next time they need to do a similar task.

“Instead of doing a long-winded training on different aspects of technology, we wanted to offer something more personal,” Foundation Executive Director Claire Muller said. “With this event, you will be able to receive one-on-one assistance from someone who knows what they are talking about and will be patient with you and your concerns. With the help of the volunteers, you will be better prepared, and confident, the next time you have this issue and will be able to tackle it like a champ.”

No appointment is necessary. If possible, attendees are asked to bring in their device so volunteers can work with them to resolve any issues. However, devices will also be available to use.

“We understand how frustrating technology can be but that is what our event is for,” Muller said. “We are excited to meet you and lend out a helping hand!”

This opportunity is part of a series the SLCF is developing thanks in part to a grant from the Foundation for Rural Service to create a community tech hub at the Foundation Building. This one-year funding will support and build upon the Foundation’s efforts to help the Seeley Lake community through this difficult time, face the unique challenges of rural living and help get the community the tools and information needed to set the stage for future success.
