Friends and family of Trenton Johnson gather around his memorial cairn at the top of the Florence Lake Trail 451 Sunday, July 18. With nearly all the firefighters out on assignment, Trenton's sister DJ Johnson and past firefighter Shannon Vaughan left the Seeley Creek Trailhead at 9 a.m. for the second annual Uye Run to the top. This is a 12 mile route with 2,000 feet of elevation gain.
SEELEY LAKE – Under smoke filled skies, family and friends of the late Trenton Johnson gathered at his memorial on top of the Florence Lake Trail 451 July 18 to remember him, share stories and laughter and raise funds for the Wildland Firefighter Foundation, a national non-profit whose main mission is to support and sustain the home of a fallen or injured firefighter – where compassion spreads like wildfire.
