Pathways and Trails Master Plan outreach meeting July 28

Missoula County is embarking on the creation of a county-wide Pathways and Trails Master Plan, focused on creating regional connections outside of Missoula’s urban area. They are seeking community input to understand current needs and values to guide the development of vibrant, healthy places for the county. The community is invited to join the discussion at a workshop Wednesday, July 28 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Seeley Lake Community Foundation’s West Wing.

This Master Plan is a long-range planning document to guide Missoula County’s Parks, Trails and Open Lands in the development and prioritization of regional and local shared use pathways and trails that serve communities throughout Missoula County now and into the future. This master planning effort will take a fresh look at the system and with multiple opportunities for community outreach and engagement, will reflect the community’s values and guiding principles.

To kick-off the project the Master Plan team is hosting a series of community meetings to understand how the existing pathways and trails system outside of Missoula’s urban area are working and where critical gaps can be addressed. Community engagement is an important aspect of developing this plan to understand current needs and values and to anticipate future demands of Missoula’s residents and trail system users.

The community is invited to share their experience using existing pathways and trails and future opportunities to make the system better as several community workshops:

• Monday, July 26: Lolo Community Center, 12345 US-93, Lolo, 6-7:30 p.m.

• Tuesday, July 27: West Riverside Park Barn, 305 Haaglund Dr, Milltown, 4 - 5:30 p.m. and Frenchtown High School - Common Area, 17620 Frenchtown Frontage Road, 6:30 - 8 p.m.
