Swan Valley Library highlights

SWAN VALLEY - Swan Valley Library is open during regular hours. Preschool children are invited to come to the library on Mondays from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. to listen to a story and make a craft or art project.

Book Chat will be held on Wednesday, May 26 at 1 p.m. We will be discussing #1 bestselling author Kristin Hannah’s new book entitled “The Four Winds”. Books are available at the library to borrow.

“The Four Winds” is a heroic novel set during the Great Depression and the drought which brought on the Dust Bowl in the 1930s on the Great Plains.

Elsa Wolcott who endured a loveless upbring was labeled a spinster because of her age and her lack of physical charm. She married Rafe Martinelli who she barely knew to save her reputation. As the hard times and her marriage gets worse, Elsa must decide to fight for the land she loves or go west for a better life for her family.

The reviewer said, “The Four Winds” is an indelible portrait of America and the American dream, as seen through the eyes of one indomitable woman whose courage and sacrifice will come to define [the greatest] generation.”
