Golfers continue to make podium

The Seeley-Swan Golf Team took to the courses in Thompson Falls April 20 and Anaconda April 22.

The Girls Team placed first at the Thompson Falls High School Golf Invitational with a team score of 477. They had a 28 stroke lead on Bigfork who took first for the Class B Girls Teams.

Trista Wendel led the girls with 110 placing third. Ava Thornsberry and Cora Stone tied for ninth with a score of 120. This qualified Stone for the State meet. Tegan Mauldin closed out the team card with 127.

The Boys placed second in the Class C bracket in Thompson Falls with a team score of 470. Ben Haley set a season personal record shooting a 106, just six strokes shy of qualifying for State. Kase Anderson shot 113 followed by Casey Carver, 116, Seth Richardson, 135 and Aaron Jungers, 154.

“The boys played well and the top three were just off from qualifying [for State],” wrote Head Coach Kellen Palmer.

At the Anaconda Golf Invitational on Thursday, Seeley-Swan’s Bethany Hoag took the podium placing third with 103, her best card of the season. Seeley-Swan also brought a full boys team. Palmer said they shot well but the results were not available at press.

This week’s meet is in St. Regis on Thursday, April 29.
