Van extinguished, no injuries

GREENOUGH – Just before 10 p.m. Thursday, April 15, local volunteer firefighters and law enforcement responded to a van that was on fire in the Harper's Lake Campground. While the van was a total loss, no one was injured.

According to Greenough-Potomac Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief and Incident Commander Ryan Hall, they were paged out at 9:56 p.m. Personnel with Seeley Lake Volunteer Fire Department, Missoula County Sheriff's Office and Montana Highway Patrol also responded to the incident.

When Hall arrived the van was fully involved. They used 1,250 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. Hall said a Mr. Buddy Propane heater caused the fire. All responders were released by 11:30 p.m.

The sole occupant got out of the van before responders arrived. Hall said no medical treatment was required.
