Seeley-Swan takes to the course in Eureka

EUREKA, MONTANA – The Seeley-Swan Golf Team brought three boys and three girls to the meet in Eureka April 9. Senior Bethany Hoag led the girls with a third place finish, 11 strokes shy of first. Sophomore Ben Haley led the boys with 115, placing 11th overall.

While it was a two-day meet, the Blackhawks opted to play the first day on The Wilderness Club course.

“This was a great opportunity for the athletes to get to play the #1 ranked course in Montana,” Head Coach Kellen Palmer said.

Behind Hoag’s 106 card, Ava Thornsberry shot 138 placing ninth, one stroke ahead of teammate Tegan Mauldin. Mauldin tied for 10th place with Katie Hummel from Bigfork High School.

Following Haley’s lead, Kase Anderson scored 128 for 18th place. Casey Carver rounded out the boys with 133, finishing 22nd.

“I was really proud of the kids’ scores,” Palmer said. “It is a difficult course and they played well.”
