Spreading lies further divides

Last week there was a letter in this newspaper called “Where is the unity.” The first paragraph said those who “went into the Capitol unlawfully” should be prosecuted… I agree. But that is where my agreement with this letter ends.

Unity could come from people looking at pertinent data for a particular question and having a meaningful debate. This article is full of misrepresentations of situations and inflammatory rhetoric. The person writing this article repeats false narratives, (i.e. lies). It’s not the first time the author has done this. These false stories are the very kinds of writings that promoted the riot at the Capitol, the problem she condemns. Repeating the lies makes the author part of the problem.

The riot was about the election. The election was fair and more than 60 courts have repeated that fact across the country. Trump lost the election. Get over it.

“Where is the outrage?” Well it’s right here. It’s outrage at all the old lies and now apparently there are new ones getting ready to split us apart even further.
