Blackhawks battle Blue Hawks

SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley-Swan Blackhawks faced the Thompson Falls Blue Hawks on their home court Jan. 22.

The Blackhawks started out strong hanging with the Blue Hawks for the first four minutes of play but then stalled out. They allowed the Blue Hawks to score six unanswered points to finish off the first quarter.

The second quarter was equally rough and the Blackhawks went into the second half trailing 16 points. The Blue Hawks kept the pace through the rest of the game and the Blackhawks fell 26-62.

Sawyer Shelmerdine led the Blackhawks with 12 points off five baskets and a pair of free throws. Jason James put in three baskets for 6 points while Oskar Murphy had 4. Chase Haines had the Blackhawks' only three pointer.

The Blackhawks host Victor Jan. 28 with JV starting at 5:30 p.m. They then head to Drummond Jan. 29 and are back on the home court taking on Valley Christian Jan. 30 with JV starting at 4 p.m.
