OVANDO –Nancy Shannon won the Ovando Scarecrow contest with her "Thin Green Man with Owl."
There were four scarecrow entries in the first annual contest of the 21st century. Sheppard collected more than 100 votes via email, Facebook and at the Ovando Post Office.
Coming in second behind Shannon's creation was the "BCC Board Meeting" created by the Blackfoot Commercial Company staff. The Ovando Grade School students' "Ovando School Witch" took third followed by Terry Sheppard's "Little Darling."
