Community invited to Cahoon Strong/ Paint a Heart Day

SEELEY LAKE – The community is invited to paint a heart for the Cahoon family at the Cahoon Strong "Paint a Heart" Day fundraiser, Saturday, Nov. 28 from 12-5 p.m. at the Seeley Lake Community Hall. Organizer Kris Gullikson is confident it will be a fun event and stressed that anyone can do it.

Gullikson was good friends with Charlie Wolff and also knew Wayne Cahoon. Her husband Erik is a pilot and aircraft accidents hit really close to home.

"I just wanted to ease the family burden, in any way I could, and this is just my way," wrote Gullikson in an email. "I was elated to hear of Christian's survival and his continued progress."

Ten painting stations will be set up with painting supplies. The paintings will be mounted on a large board for presentation to the family afterwards. In the center will be the words YOU ARE LOVED.

Masks required (can be provided) and social distancing is part of the plan. Currently, Missoula County asks that no more than 25 people gather at one place, so if possible, call Gullikson to schedule a time.

To paint a heart is $30 per adult and $10 for children. If you can't make it, you can sponsor a heart for $30 and someone else will paint it for you. Donations will also be accepted. All profits will be donated to the Cahoon family for the care and healing of Christian and any other needs they have during this difficult time.

Gullikson wrote, " Let's do what we do best in Seeley Lake and help our neighbors!"
