Trunk-or-Treat offers attendees spooks and sweets

SEELEY LAKE - Over a dozen cars came together Halloween night to welcome trick-or-treaters at the seventh annual Trunk-or-Treat event hosted at Seeley Lake Elementary. In addition to the treats, the event also featured music, free pizza at Stageline Pizza and Dracula's Castle.

Those with trunks were awarded gifts from local businesses as part of a Trunk-or-Treat contest judged by event organizers members. Crystal Lopez, Crystal Melendrez, Kuko Lopez, Rebecca Bowman and Naya Lopez came in first place for their Witches' Kitchen display. Althea Garland came in second place for her Noah's Ark set up. Suzie Teafoe, Heather Mincey and Sarah Sanderson came in third place for their Hocus Pocus themed trunk.

Event founder Mark Kues said the event went on flawlessly. "Everybody came together [despite the circumstances]. As far as numbers I'd say we were on queue with what we had last year," Kues said.

Organizer Toni Sexton was grateful for the support the event had. "I would like to thank the Seeley Lake community for their support (and) generosity, and our planning team with (helping) our Trunk-or-Treat," Sexton said in a Facebook Post. "It was a super night. It made the kids' hearts so happy."
