Correction

SEELEY LAKE – In the article “Reimagining Rural encourages small town residents to develop projects” printed in the Oct. 8 issue, the idea for residents building snow sculptures on their property was incorrectly attributed. Seeley Lake resident Carla Schade presented the idea during the brainstorming.

Welcome home Christian Cahoon – Shh…It’s a surprise

SEELEY LAKE – Seeley Lake resident Christian Cahoon will be returning Friday, Oct. 16 after spending more than a month in the hospital after recovering from injuries sustained in an airplane crash. Members of the community are invited to line Highway 83 south of Cory’s Valley Market at Wagon Wheel Way to honk, wave and hold signs up to welcome him home.

Cahoon’s flight is expected to arrive in Missoula at 6:30 p.m. Members of the community are asked to gather around 7:45-8 p.m. Any changes to the time will be posted on Facebook by Cahoon’s sister Chelsea Lynn Cahoon and on the Pathfinder’s Facebook page.

Cahoon’s family asks that this be a surprise for Christian. They know how much it would mean for him to see the love and support from his family, friends and the community.

Weekly COVID-19 update

As of Oct. 12, there are 19,125 cases of COVID-19 in Montana. There are 7,432 active cases, 904 total hospitalizations with 291 active, 11,481 recoveries and 212 deaths in Montana due to COVID-19 complications. Missoula County has had 1,357 cases, has 435 active cases with 12 currently hospitalized, 917 recovered and five reported deaths. There are more than 950 identified close contacts in quarantine and isolation.
