A Note from Linda

Dear Seeley Swan friends,​

I am writing this note from my home office and feel somewhat removed as I expect you all do too. These are extremely challenging times for all of us and can feel scary.

I want you to know that you are not alone. In Seeley Swan there are several excellent initiatives underway to help out our citizens, as well as the regular benefit programs to help you.

1. Seeley Swan Helps is a new outstanding collaboration of Seeley-Swan pastors and Missoula Aging Services, organized to bring residents in need together with volunteers who can assist them. Contact them if you need any type of assistance or would like to volunteer: seeleyswanhelps@gmail.com or call (406) 239-9617.

2. Seeley Lake Senior Center is offering carry-out meals and Meals on Wheels. Meals on Wheels applicants must be homebound and 60 years old or older or disabled. Carry-out applicants must be 60 years old or older. New applicants for Carry-Out and Meals on Wheels must call the Seeley Lake Senior Center at (406) 677-2008 for screening. Carry-Out meals may be ordered the day before you want the meal by calling (406) 677-2008. Pick up your meal in the parking lot.

3. Both Cory's Valley Market (406) 677-2121 in Seeley Lake, and Mission Mountains Mercantile (406) 754-2387 in Condon are offering orders to go to be picked up in their parking lots. Please call them for more information.

4. For those needing a liquid supplement at a 50-60% discount, either Glucerna or Ensure products: 1. Call your doctor and have him or her fax the order to Missoula Aging Services FAX (406) 728-7687. 2. Call Linda Howard (406) 541-7688 to complete a Supplement Intake Form, 3.Call Missoula Aging Services at (406) 728-7682 to order the number of cases you need. 4. Linda will call you and arrange to deliver the supplement order to your home in Seeley Lake or Condon.

5. ROOTS is a regular Missoula Food Bank benefit program for those 60 years or older, with incomes for a single person of $1,383 or less, and for a couple of $1,868 or less. If you qualify, an ample box of food will be delivered to your home monthly at no cost to you. To request an application please call Linda Howard (406) 541-7688, or (406) 549-0543 and ask for Jess Harrell Ext 216 at Missoula Food Bank.

6. Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) and Weatherization applications must be completed and returned to the Human Resource Council by April 30,2020; located at 1801 S. Higgins Missoula, MT 59801. To get an application call the Human Resource Council Phone: (406) 728-3710 Fax: (406) 728-7680. LIEAP heat assistance applications will NOT be accepted after April 30, 2020. However, you can apply for weatherization all year.

7. Energy Share of Montana is for home energy emergencies such as having a disconnect notice or being low on propane or oil. Energy Share applications can also be obtained from the Human Resource Council.
