Thank you - You make us proud

SEELEY LAKE - Doug Pewitt passed away on Feb.10 after his vehicle fell through the ice on Salmon Lake. This tragedy was softened and made easier to handle due to the response and support of individuals and agencies involved.

Thanks go out to Seeley Lake Fire Department, Seeley Lake QRU, Seeley-Swan Search and Rescue, Missoula County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Forest Service and Montana Highway Patrol. The events on that day are etched into our family’s memory.

I particularly want to commend Heath Hanson, Chaplain Lowell Hochhalter, Zach Barber, Bob Parcell and Scott King the diver who recovered the body. I also want to thank Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Billy Munoz and Federal Officer Tyler Robinson. Tyler was a great comfort to my sister and me.

The compassion and care shown by everybody was heartwarming during this loss. The sense of community is never stronger when people come together in tough times. I am proud to call Seeley Lake home and all these folks and more make it a true community.

On behalf of the Williams and Pewitt families I thank all of you for your care and compassion. The professionalism shown by all was exemplary and makes all of us proud.

Sincerely,

Mark Williams
