"If you love ME, you will keep MY commandments." John 14:15

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;…” (2 Timothy 3:10-17).

For proper biblical understanding, supportive scriptural context is often required.

Consider this: “...if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:1-[9]-21).

By expressing faith in Jesus, we act upon faith to manifest faith; we obey all of God commands; we believe everything revealed by God.

With faith we:

• Do God’s Will - “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father…” (Matthew 7:21-23).

• Love the Lord - “If you love ME,…keep MY commandments” (John 14:1-[15]-31).

• Love One Another - “…in deed and in truth” (1John 3:11-24). “…whoever believes in Me will do the works that I do,…” (John 14:12-14). By cooperating with grace, faith is demonstrated in good works. “…faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead;…faith [is] completed by…works” (James 2:14-26).

• Forgive Others - “…if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive [you]” (Matthew 6:14-15).

Overwhelmed? Jesus helps us through His church and sacraments:

• Repent and Receive Sacramental Baptism - “…baptism,…saves…” (1Peter 3:21). “Repent and be baptized,…in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins” (Acts 2:38-42; Matthew 28:18-20).

Can we be saved if we commit serious (mortal) sin after baptism?

“If we sin deliberately after receiving knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains sacrifice for sins but a fearful prospect of judgment [and a consuming flaming fire]…The Lord will judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:26-31).

By His abundant love and mercy, Jesus established a sacramental path for Forgiveness or Reconciliation in His Church, see John 20:21-23.

• Receive Jesus in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist - Jesus said, “…unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you do not have life within you” (John 6:22-[53]-71). In the most perfect act of worship at Holy Catholic Mass, the bread and wine are substantially changed into the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ in memory of His one-time Sacrifice and Resurrection and for Holy Communion. This happens by the power of the Holy Spirit and the Words of Christ spoken by the Catholic priest acting in the person of Christ. Watch “The Veil Removed” on YouTube.

• Follow the path Jesus provides through His Holy Sacraments - Receive instruction in the one, true Faith; the Roman Catholic Church that Jesus founded ~ 2,000 years ago, see Matthew 16:18-19.

“Enter through the narrow gate…those who find it are few” (Matthew 7:13-14).

“…work out your salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12-18).

“…[whoever] perseveres to the end will be saved” (Matthew 24:11-14). Love God by obedience according to His commandments; search online: ‘detailed examination of conscience’ and then ‘perfect contrition.’
