Swan Song

SEELEY LAKE - Margaret Timpano of Seeley Lake passed away Monday, Dec. 2 at home in Seeley Lake after a battle with bone cancer.

Margaret was born in Bellow Falls, Vt. June 17, 1944 to Earl and Bula Simmons and was raised on the Flying Cloud Dairy farm which her father operated in Alstead Center, N.H. She grew up with a good many pets including: a hen named “Speckles;” horses named Dolly, Princess and Pixie; several cats and kittens; and many dairy calves.

She attended school in Alstead and graduated from Vilas High School in 1962 and went on to graduate from Keene State College with a degree in Home Economics in 1966.

On June 18, 1966 she married Bruce Timpano and they moved to Missoula, Mont. where she worked as a nurses aid until their son Michael was born in 1968. They then moved to Fredericton, N.B. Canada, then to North Foster, R.I. where a second son Peter was born in 1970. The family made a final move back to Montana in 1972 and lived in Missoula, Helena and Seeley Lake.

Margaret enjoyed hiking, hunting and canoeing and was an excellent seamstress making handmade quilts, braided and hooked rugs and kept both a flower and vegetable garden. She was a good cook and homemaker and enjoyed her granddaughters very much.

Survivors include her husband Bruce of Seeley Lake; two sons and their families Michael (Susan) San Jose, Calif. and Peter (Chris) Littleton, Colo.; a brother Charles, Hampstead, N.C.; niece Lacinda Broek (John) Deerfield, N.H.; granddaughters Megan, Jill, Clare and Anna and many cousins.

Cremation has taken place and no service is planned at this time.
