Veterans & Families of Seeley Lake and Seeley Lake TOPS offered an extensive bake sale with something to please anyone's sweet tooth.
"Crochet Goodness" handmade by Seeley Lake's Anita Boddington were available at the Holiday Bazaar. Boddington has been creating hats, baskets, bags and mittens for the past eight years. She is legally blind. She wears magnifying glasses on her eyes and uses a big magnifying glass so she can see some of the stitches. She also counts the stitches. "If I look at it and I figure out there is something wrong somewhere, doesn't matter if it is at the beginning of the end, I have to take it all out and start all over again," Boddington said.
SEELEY LAKE – The Seeley Lake Community Hall was filled with the hustle and bustle of the holiday season Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Holiday Bazaar in Seeley Lake. Organizer and potter Carrie Darrah was pleased with the turn out and thankful for the support of the local artisans.
Darrah, a local potter and regular vendor at the Seeley Lake Farmer's Market, was approached last summer about hosting a larger bazaar in Seeley Lake since the Seeley Lake Senior Center no longer hosted theirs at the school. She agreed to organize it to support the community and the local artisans.
Attendees had a range of options from handmade wooden games, knit creations and pottery to crystals, signs, candles and goodies. A chili and hot dog lunch was also served for folks to eat and enjoy while they shopped.
"It is nice to see the people of Seeley come out and support this," said Darrah. "It has been a nice community event to see people come out and visit."
