Santa Claus is coming to Swan Valley

Swan Valley – Santa Claus will be at the Mission Mountains Mercantile Saturday, Dec. 21 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. to visit with all the children and children-at-heart in the valley. Bring your camera and wish list for Santa. It is sure to be a Holly, Jolly Time.

Missoula City-County Air Quality Advisory Council seeks members

MISSOULA - Do inversions, forest fire smoke, or road dust concern you? Volunteers are needed to become members on the Missoula City-County Air Quality Advisory Council. The application deadline is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31. 

In keeping with the Council's objective, individuals are sought who have expertise in areas related to air quality, including chemical engineering, environmental engineering, environmental law, environmental studies, forestry, health care, industrial sources, meteorology, outdoor burning, public relations and transportation. Other members may be appointed as citizens-at-large.

The all-volunteer Council meets the first Tuesday evening of each month and advises the Missoula City-County Air Pollution Control Board on a broad range of air quality topics including transportation, industrial sources, outdoor burning, road dust, wildfire smoke and wood stoves.

Anyone who is a Missoula County resident with a strong interest in air quality and who is willing to attend meetings regularly is encouraged to apply. Seeley Lake Library News

SEELEY LAKE - The Seeley Lake Library Book Club will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. to discuss James Lee Burke's "Wayfaring Stranger." This epic American saga traces the life of Weldon Holland who escapes death in World War II and returns home to seek his fortune in the oil business along the Texas-Louisiana coast.

This novel has been described as a thriller, a romance and an irresistible read. All are invited to join in the discussion. Books are available at the checkout desk.

The Seeley Lake Library is a branch of Missoula Public Library located at Seeley-Swan High School. The library is open to the public Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.

During Winter Break, the library will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24 through Thursday, Dec. 26. Tuesday, Dec. 31 and Wednesday, Jan. 1. The library will reopen Thursday, Jan. 2 at 10:30 a.m.
