SEELEY LAKE - Partnership Health Center is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Stephen Humpal, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, to our Seeley-Swan Medical Center.

Dr. Humpal attended medical school at Pacific Northwest University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Yakima, Wash. for two years before completing his clinical rotations in communities across Alaska. He later attended Family Medicine Residency in Madison, Wisc. before moving to Granby, Colo. where he practiced for the past four years.

Practicing medicine, especially preventative medicine, attracted Dr. Humpal because of the opportunity it presented to help improve others' lives.

"I've always wanted to work directly with people," he said. "Since going to medical school and residency I've realized that I'm very interested in things like diet and exercise changes to help prevent a lot common chronic diseases."

Dr. Humpal said that his experiences working in small communities like Kodiak, Alaska and Granby, Colo. sparked his fondness for rural settings. He felt a familiar comfort when visiting our Seeley-Swan Medical Center.

"I enjoy really getting to know my patients," said Dr. Humpal. "Seeing them at the grocery store or walking down the street – just really being part of the community in multiple ways, not just as a medical provider." He also noted that meeting the friendly staff at the clinic made him feel welcome and reminded him of his time in Granby.

As a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Humpal is excited to use hands-on treatments to help address patients' musculoskeletal pain. He is also looking forward to working with a team that values holistic, whole-person care.

"It's important to me that we accept all patients, stress the importance of mental health, and offer services like behavioral health and dentistry right on site," he said. "I'm excited to be a part of the Partnership Health Center team."

Outside of work, Dr. Humpal enjoys traveling the country in his camper van, back country skiing, mountain biking, trail running and fishing. "I also can't wait for the Nordic Skiing in the Seeley Swan area," he added.

Partnership Health Center would like to invite community members in the Seeley Swan area to attend an Open House Meet & Greet with Dr. Humpal on Jan. 7, 2020 from 4 – 5 p.m. at our Seeley-Swan Medical Center at 3050 Highway 83. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Stephen Humpal to our clinic and our community!
