SEELEY LAKE – Goblins and goons, princesses and unicorns flooded to Seeley Lake Elementary on Halloween night. SLE hosted the sixth annual Trunk-or-Treat with an added haunted entryway and carnival inside. Children filled up on candy and homemade goodies as well as played different games for prizes – if they could get past the creepy clown in the entryway.

The Tender Lumplings Nightmare Before Christmas tent expanded the "trunk" concept and made for a great, spooky stop. Pictured (L-R): Lexi Matheny, Ryan and Lavonne Dunster and Cristine Matheny.

"We had a blast setting up the Haunted House for the Halloween event this year," wrote Lisa Hayhurst, executive director of the Seeley Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. "We loved working with Mark and Alex Kues with the Trunk-or-Treat. The elementary school teachers and our new principal were wonderful to work with too. We can't wait until next year."

"It was a huge success and a total team effort," said games organizer Toni Sexton.

Alex Kues who initiated the first Trunk-or-Treat in 2014 with her husband Mark was grateful to everyone who decorated their vehicles and tents and came out for the evening.

"Thank you to everyone who helped make this a great event," said Kues.

Organizers hope the event will continue to grow. They would love to have more volunteers, have people sponsor games or a haunted maze and add more trunks to the event next year.

Planning for next year's event will begin next September. To help out with next year's event, please call or text Mark Kues, 210-7175.
