Annual Harvest Dinner and Auction, Nov. 9

OVANDO – Join the community of Ovando for their Annual Harvest Dinner and Auction Friday, Nov. 9 at the Ovando School gymnasium. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. with a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring a favorite dish to share for the potluck. There will be a live auction that will begin at 7 p.m. followed by the conclusion of the silent auction at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to bring baked goods, crafted items or other gift-like items for the silent auction.

All proceeds support Ovando community needs throughout the year.

2020 ServeMontana recognition open for nominations

HELENA - The Governor’s Office of Community Service announced they are accepting nominations for their annual ServeMontana Awards.

This award recognizes Montanan citizens who demonstrate commitment to helping others and serving their communities. The public is encouraged to nominate individuals from various service groups, and of all ages and backgrounds. Both individuals and organizations can be nominated. All service must be performed in Montana or by Montanans. Applications are due by March 31, 2020.

 Ideal nominees:

• Impact change in others’ lives through volunteerism

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to serving their community

• Engage in service that significantly benefits others

• Exhibit leadership through service

• Represent determination and perseverance
