Stevenson new secretary at SSHS

Meet the staff

SEELEY LAKE – There is a new face behind the front desk at Seeley-Swan High School. Aimee Stevenson, of Greenough, is the new SSHS secretary. She looks forward to becoming more proficient in her job and continuing to get to know the students, staff and members the community.

Almost four years ago the Stevenson family moved to the area from Syracuse, Utah. Stevenson's husband Brandon and his brother are in business together as general contractors. This allowed them the freedom to relocate.

"We were ready for something new and we wanted to try small town living," wrote Stevenson in an email. "We came up here and have really enjoyed the change."

Aside from working part time at the Clearwater Boat Check Station for the past three summers, Stevenson has primarily been a stay at home mom for the last 15 years.  Prior to that, she worked as a juvenile court clerk and then a legal secretary in the county prosecutor's office where we lived.

"I think these two jobs prepared me because although the jobs are different from what I'm doing now, they had the same need for efficiency, organization and the ability to assist the public," wrote Stevenson. "I enjoyed those aspects of my previous jobs and am happy to continue in that same line of work."

Stevenson applied for the SSHS secretary position because she feels the office setting is ideal for her. She likes having a list of things that need to be completed and crossing them off. She also likes interacting and communicating with people. Since the Stevensons live out by Clearwater Junction, it has been harder to get to know people in Seeley Lake.

"This is a chance for me to get to know more people," wrote Stevenson. "And I'm looking forward to being closer to my kids while they are at school."

Stevenson said there has been a lot to learn at the start of the school year.

"Thankfully, I have a lot of resources for help. The staff and district employees have been great to work with," wrote Stevenson. "I am up for the task, and I look forward to the day I realize I'm doing the majority of the job without the need of help from others."

The Stevensons have four children, two at Seeley Lake Elementary School and two at SSHS.  When she is not at work, Stevenson loves reading, music, movies, theater, travel and especially spending time with her family.
